Elon, North Carolina – Elon University men’s soccer team and head coach Mark Reeves The exciting Fall 2022 roster was unveiled on Wednesday, June 22nd. Highlights of the 2022 ledger include a three-versus-contender game from the 2021 NCAA Tournament with two of these three competitions coming up at Phoenix Stadium in Rudd Field.
“We’ve put together a challenging schedule that includes some great non-conference teams that will be coming to Road this fall,” Reeves said. “(The Colonial Athletic Association) has added two more strong programs and it will be a tough conference again. With the extra time taken out in the regular season, every game will be a tight battle in search of maximum points both at home and on the road. . .We expect our team to have a strong mentality to prepare To perform our best in all nine matches, knowing that margins of success are tight and the difference can often be in the smallest details.”
The fall roster begins with three shows versus Campbell (August 14), at Gardner-Webb (August 16) versus ETSU (August 21) before officially opening the 2022 regular season in a tournament at Duke University. Elon will meet Milwaukee (August 26) and San Diego (August 28) at Koskinen Stadium.
The team returns home for two games to start September and plays the Colonial Athletic Association against Northeastern on Saturday 3rd September. The following week, Phoenix hosts league newcomer Stony Brook at Rod Field on September 10.
Elon travels to Foreman for the first real road competition of the season on Wednesday, September 14th. Phoenix continues his adventure on the road, traveling to Delaware for a game against the Blue Hen on Saturday, September 17th.
Phoenix returns home to host his first 2021 NCAA competitors on his schedule at Duke on Tuesday, September 20th. Elon then heads to New Jersey to face newcomer CAA Monmouth on Saturday, September 24.
The four-game home starts with a game against rival Piedmont Triad High Point on Wednesday, September 28, followed by a meeting with Drexel on Saturday, October 1. Team Phoenix will then welcome their second 2021 NCAA contender and ACC team runner-up to North Carolina. Rodfield on Tuesday 4th October. This is the first league meeting between Phoenix and Tar Heels on the football field since 2009.
The game against William and Mary on Saturday, October 8, ended with a four-match family run before Elon made a trip to New York to face CAA champion Hofstra on Saturday October 15 in the rematch of last year’s CAA Championship Final.
Elon heads to I-40 for a road contest at UNCG (October 18) before finishing the regular season roster at home against College of Charleston (October 22) and Radford (October 26). The Phoenix team crowns the regular season on the road at UNCW on Saturday, October 29.
The 2022 CAA Men’s Soccer Championships begins on November 4 and November 6 with first- and semi-final matches in the top-seeded positions in the six-team tournament. The tournament match will be played on November 12 at the remaining top seed.
After kicking off its first trip to the CAA Final in 2021, the Phoenix brought back 21 players and seven rookie players in 2022 including the All-CAA Performers Casper for them And the Jannick Vidbeck. Maroon and Gold also welcome a pair of CAA All-Rookie players to Kali Edelstam And the Scott missed me.
