Pittsburgh – Rising University of Pittsburgh William Jeffress Onwards into the second year Nate Santos They have been selected to play for USA East Coast Basketball during an upcoming overseas tour this summer. The University of Arkansas at Daryl Walker in Little Rock will lead an all-star cast from all three NCAA levels to Athens, Greece.

Jeffress averaged 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, starting 16 of the 31 games played, while Santos scored 2.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in 25 competitions last season for the Panthers.

Joining Jeffris and Santos on the list are Matthew Kelly (Assumption), Ethan McKeacher (Rochester), James Taylor (Mercy), Gordon Jefferson (Arkansas Little Rock), Under Hyatt (Rutgers), Mo Terry (Leking), Noah McDavid (Tarlton) State ), Ebby Asamoah (Delaware), Dyson Harward (Lycoming), Panayiotis Pavlidis (Molloy), and Nigel John (Arkansas Little Rock).

USA East Coast, in association with Moneyball Sportwear and Cleveland Brothers – CAT, will conduct a two-day training camp at Columbia University in New York City before heading to Athens for matches against some of Greece’s top professional teams. The team will train for two days in Greece before playing three matches.

Walker’s assistant head coach will be Western Connecticut State University Guy Rancourt, who was recently named one of the 50 best college coaches in the country by Barstool U. Marino, the leader in player development and USA coach who is a two-time medalist in both 2010 and 2011. Luke McDougall of St. John’s University will serve as the team’s director of basketball operations while Grayson Kay Fleming of Boston University has been appointed assistant director of basketball operations. Court coaches at the 2022 Athens boot camp will be Jimmy Brosino of Western Connecticut State University and Nolan Meehan of Quinnipiac College.

The US team heading to Athens will be well-balanced as talented players from the ACC, Big Ten, WAC, Colonial and Sun Belt conferences combine with top players from the Division II and Division III levels. After a two-day training camp at Columbia University, the team will head to Athens. The Americans will then train for two days before playing three games in a row against some of the best professional clubs in Greece.

Basketball was established in the East Coast of the USA in the summer of 2006. In what Slam magazine writer Matthew Caputo called, “…the study abroad college basketball version…” participants moved on to professional playing positions, and front-office positions , and coaching positions in the NBA, Europe, Australia, Asia, the NCAA, and the NJCAA.
